What this is

Jam Picks is a free setlist-prediction game for jam band fans - one account plays every band the site covers. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site handles and what happens to it.

What we collect

• Your email address - used only to sign you in (magic link) or received from Google when you sign in with Google. We use it for authentication and nothing else.
• Your chosen username - shown on scoreboards to other players on your boards, along with any per-band alias you set.
• Your game activity - picks, scores, and group memberships. That's the game.
• Which pages get visited - the path, the time, a random visitor id kept in your browser, and your account if you're signed in. That count is ours, on our own database. Alongside it we use GoatCounter, a privacy-focused page counter run by a third party. It receives the page path and title, the page that linked you here, your screen size, browser family and country. It sets no cookies, stores no IP address, and never learns who you are - nothing about your account goes to it.
• Roughly where you are - a city, state or region, and country, worked out from your IP address by our host at the moment you load a page. We use it to see which parts of the country the players are in. We do not store your IP address, and we don't keep the more precise coordinates our host also offers. It's a guess from your network, so it's often the wrong city and it's wrong more or less always on a VPN.

What we don't do

• No selling or sharing of your data with anyone.
• No advertising or tracking analytics - no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, nothing that follows you across sites. The page counting described above is our own database plus GoatCounter, which keeps no cookies and no IP addresses.
• No email you didn't ask for: sign-in links, and pick reminders before a show if you leave them on. You can switch the reminders off on your profile at any time.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider) and the site is hosted on Vercel. Sign-in emails are delivered via Resend. Setlist and song data comes from the phish.net API (a project of the non-profit Mockingbird Foundation) for Phish and go-set.net for Dogs in a Pile.

How long we keep it

Your account, picks and scores stay as long as you have an account - the game is a season-long record, so deleting last month would break the standings. Page-visit rows and their rough locations are kept while they're useful for seeing how the site is being used. If you'd rather none of it existed, say so and it goes, along with everything else.
